Landscape Design & Installation

A yard that fits the climate, not one that fights it.

Low-water front yard in rock

Most yards in the Grand Valley were planted as if they were somewhere else. Bluegrass everywhere, sprinklers running twice a day in July, and a water bill that gets worse every summer. It works until it doesn't.

We design around the ground we actually have — high desert, hard water, long hot summers and real winters. That usually means less lawn than you started with, put where you actually use it, and the rest turned into rock, beds and plants that survive on what falls out of the sky plus a little help.

That is not a compromise. A well-designed xeriscape looks better in August than a struggling lawn does, and it costs a fraction to keep alive.

Who calls us for this

A new build in Fruita or the Redlands with nothing but dirt in the back yard.

An older lawn that costs a fortune to water and still burns out by August.

A yard you have stopped going out into because it needs more work than a weekend.

What drives the price

There's no rate card on the site yet, because a made-up range helps nobody. Here's what actually moves the number:

  • Square footage and how much of it changes
  • Whether we're working with the existing grade or fixing it
  • Material choice — rock and stone vary a lot in price
  • Plant size at install (bigger plants cost more but read as finished immediately)
  • Access — a back yard we can get a machine into costs less to build than one we wheelbarrow

Questions we get

Do you do the design, or do I need a designer first?

We do it. You walk the property with us, tell us how you actually use the space and what you're tired of, and we come back with a plan and a price.

Will xeriscape look like a gravel parking lot?

Not if it's done right. Rock is the background, not the point — the plants, grading and bed shapes carry it. We can show you the difference before you commit to anything.

Can you keep some lawn?

Almost always the right answer. Kids and dogs need grass. The savings come from not watering the parts nobody walks on.

How long does a full yard take?

Depends on size and what's coming out first. We'll give you a real window in the estimate, not a guess.

Do you haul away the old material?

Yes. Demo and haul-off are part of the estimate, not a surprise line item.
