Fixtures & Installations

It's still in the box. We'll get it on the wall.

Ceiling fan on a vaulted ceiling

This is the most common call in the trade and the one people are most embarrassed to make. Nobody should be. Mounting a fan on a vaulted ceiling is genuinely awkward, and swapping a faucet in a cabinet you can't fit your shoulders into is worse.

It's usually an hour or two, it's usually the same day we're already out, and it comes off the list permanently.

If you've bought the fixture already, say so in the estimate — you're only paying for the install.

What's included

  • Ceiling fan installation and replacement
  • Light fixture swaps, indoor and out
  • Faucet and sink replacement
  • Toilet replacement
  • Garbage disposal replacement
  • TV mounting and cable concealment
  • Smart doorbells, thermostats and locks
  • Bath hardware, mirrors and shelving
  • Appliance hookup

Who calls us for this

The fan has been leaning against the wall in the box for three months.

You are on a ladder in your seventies and your kids would rather you weren't.

You bought the nice faucet and would like it installed by someone who has done it before.

What drives the price

There's no rate card on the site yet, because a made-up range helps nobody. Here's what actually moves the number:

  • Ceiling height — a vaulted ceiling is a different job than an eight-foot one
  • Whether there's already a box and wiring where you want it
  • Wall type for mounting: drywall and stud is quick, tile and brick is not
  • How many fixtures — several in one visit is much cheaper per item
  • Whether you supply the fixture or we do

Questions we get

Do I need to buy the fixture first?

Your call. If you've already got it, we install it. If not, tell us what you're after and we'll pick it up.

Can you put a fan where there isn't one now?

Sometimes. If there's no box and no wiring, that's an electrician's job and we'll say so rather than guess.

Will you mount a TV over a fireplace?

Yes — and we'll tell you honestly if the heat or the viewing angle makes it a bad idea before we drill.

Can you install a fixture I bought online?

Yes. Bring it out of the box before we come so we can check nothing's missing.

Do you haul off the old one?

Yes, unless you want to keep it.
